Create your own Surplice Top

DIY SURPLICE TOP thrift
LACE EMBROIDERED BRA local store
SHOE JEWELRY yard sale
CHOKER thrift

There is a top at Urban Outfitters by BDG that I have been dying to get my hands on. It is a thinnly striped, softest material, breezy surplice top. It costs, however, around $79 dollars. Fuck that.

I ignored the fact I wanted this tee because even though it appeared to be nicely made, it just was not worth it. Then I was walking around with my boyfriend one day and came across this stripped tee. Same stripes, soft material, yet not a surplice design.

I bought it oversized, unbuttoned it at home, stapled a few safety pins, and wallah!
I got myself a $10 surplice top..

It isn't just like the one I wanted. It has its cheap flaws of not drapping correctly or not being sewn off. But I like it because I can unpin it and have another regular button down.
Two in one, BDG! ;)

Spoiled Egg on Easter!

 Happy Easter all you celebrators!
Haven't spent this much of my money on myself since I got my rockin' job! To be honest (it wasn't too much). But I spoiled myself a bit ago on Urban Outfitter's website goods, including the two headpieces above. No clothes, HA. Just some sunnies, these headpieces, and a cute bralette. I hope it all works out! I hate returning items. But thank god they have free returns. A+

The top photo is a photo I took on my instagram (andabrea). I made that headwrap out of an old vintage necklace.

DIY: distressing jean

 SHORTS - thrifted
Used a trick I picked up from another blogger about using a cheese grader to make rips and tear in your jeans. It worked out well, but not as planned. It made them have fuzz around the rips, and I had to get my scissors and scrap it to make it rip a bit more. This ran the scissors just above the surface to cut off extra fuzz. Anyways, they are not finished yet, still planning to distress the back and fold a bit more. I do plan to figure out a better way to grind them though, cause I accidently graded my fingers without even taking notice. They are sore now.

English Flag Pocket

Too bad I am not into American propaganda. My friend Davis is having a July 4th pool party and we are required to wear red, white, and blue. I have mixed feelings for America, so I am supporting England. haha. I am part British, not a whole lot, so it's not too fake.

I took a piece of cloth I cut from an old shirt, cut it out in the shape of the jean's back pocket, painted the English flag on it, and after it dried I safety pinned it to the shorts pocket. It is a temporary thing for the party, so I did not put my best effort into it. I do like the quicky outcome though. I did use the wrong paint, I meant to grab the acrylic but grabbed the water color..opps...
